Thank You for Supporting SCVV
As of 6:00 pm this evening Do More 24 officially closed and, due toeveryone’s incredible generosity, we exceeded our goal of $3,500 and reached $4,300!
Your donations will enable us to grow our reach, expand current programs, provide more services, implement new communications tools, and provide much-needed respite for hardworking caregivers. As additional donations come in we will share our final total. Just know that we are incredibly grateful to all of our supporters. With much appreciation, South Coastal Village Volunteers
If you missed the donation period, you can still donate to SCVV.

SCVV coordinates volunteers to assist members with services such as transportation to various appointments and shopping, home visits, telephone check-ins, running errands, technology support and small household tasks. Currently we serve residents within the ZIP codes of Bethany Beach, Millville, Ocean View and South Bethany by providing volunteers for support, services and social interaction to enhance the lives of our members.

SCVV Newsletter – Winter 2026
January 20 marked an important day for the South Coastal Village Volunteers. We held our first Board of Directors meeting and welcomed two new board members who, as volunteers, made positive impacts on SCVV. Len Caro has added treasurer to his volunteer list. Having been a member of the Finance Committee, Len will now chair that committee. Diane Maddex, a Strategic Partner and newsletter editor and designer, will continue working with the Communications Team.
SCVV Newsletter – Fall 2025
The holidays are just around the corner, and reflecting on my initial year as SCVV chair, the first thought I have is gratitude. So many people contribute to the success of helping older adults live independently and safely as vital members of our communities. There aren’t sufficient words to express my appreciation for the support, guidance, positive attitude, comfort, and friendship extended by our members, volunteers, donors, and community.

A Word from the Chair
Every month (or nearly), I have the privilege of attending a meeting with four of the most caring people I know. We meet to talk about our members and how they are doing. We discuss each person, some briefly and others at length.

Summer Traffic is Coming!
As homeowners and businesses begin to prepare for the visitor season, traffic has already increased. Past history tells us that on Fridays during the summer, traffic is gridlocked and our volunteers are busy with house guests and activities. Last year, with your cooperation, we tried to avoid the Friday traffic congestion from June through mid-September.

Cottage Tour Hosts Needed
SCVV is excited to support the South Coastal Library’s 2025 Beach & Bay Cottage Tour. We will be sponsoring one of the seven homes that will be open for in-person tours on July 23 and 24. This is a fantastic opportunity to help raise funds for our local library while also sharing information about SCVV.
